Peterson, Elizabeth #3 (18 JAN 1871 - 28 NOV 1948)
Mrs. P.E. Peterson nee Elizabeth Spencer, daughter of Daniel and Mary
Searles Spencer, was born on January 18, 1871 at Hixton, Wisconsin. She attended
school at Black River Falls and taught school around Greenwood for six years.
On May 17, 1893 she was united in marriage to Peter E. Peterson at La Crosse and came to Greenwood where she has resided ever since. To this union was born a son, Everett, now of Pontiac, Mich., and a daughter, Cepha, now Mrs. Ray Knutsen of this city.
Mrs. Peterson was a member of the Eastern Star and one of its past matrons.
Mrs. Peterson passed away at her home in Greenwood, Sunday evening, November 28, 1948, following a short illness.
She is survived by her husband, P.E. Peterson, her son and daughter, one brother, Major Spencer of Bothell, Wash.; and a sister, Mrs. Harry (Ethel) Bryden of Creswell, Oregon, a son-in-law Ray Knutsen, Greenwood and a daughter-in-law Mrs. Everett (Dorothy) Peterson, Pontiac, Mich.Funeral services were held at the Coles Funeral Parlors at Neillsville, on Tuesday afternoon, November 30, at 2 p.m. A friend, Thomas Gantenbein of La Crosse conducted the Christian Science service and Dr. Sarah Rosekranz sang “The Lords Prayer” and “Oh Dreamer.
