Ketchpaw, Ella #2 (14 OCT 1857 - 18 MAR 1950)

Mrs. Ella Ketchpaw, nee Ella E. Roach, was born October 14, 1857, at Elkhorn, Wisconsin, daughter of Joseph and Essa Roach, one of six children, all of who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Ketchpaw passed away at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 18, 1950 at her home in Greenwood at the age of 92 years, 5 months and 4 days.

She spent her maidenhood in Elkhorn, graduating from the Elkhorn High School about 1875. She early joined the Methodist Church and was a consecrated worker until infirmities forbade physical attendance, but her thoughts were always for her Church. She served as organist, member of the choir and Sunday School teacher.

On December 4, 1877 she was united in marriage with Byron F. Ketchpaw at Elkhorn, Wis., where they made their home until December 1897 when they came to Greenwood, Wis. Later they moved to a farm west of Hemlock where they lived until 1912 when they moved back to Greenwood.

To this union five children were born all of who survive: Mrs. Addie Memhard, Greenwood; Mrs. Maud Dustin, Everett, Washington; Dr. M. B. Ketchpaw, Bloomer, Wis.; Mrs. Beatrice Clayton and Eben of Greenwood. Mr. Ketchpaw preceded her in death on October 19, 1939.
