Steffen, Ann Margaret #2
(15 NOV 1916 - 02 OCT 1959)*
Mrs. Gerald Steffen, nee Ann Margaret Tomac,
daughter of Mrs. Julia (Ozbolt) Tomac Perman and the late Antone Tomac, was born
at Greenwood Wisconsin, on November 15, 1916. Here she grew to womanhood and
received her education. She graduated from the eighth grade of St. Mary’s
Catholic School, the Greenwood High School with the class of 1935 and from St.
Luke’s School of Nursing in Chicago, Ill., in 1943. She then did industrial
nursing in Chicago.
During World War II, she served with the Navy Nurses Corp as an ensign. She enlisted in January, 1944 and was stationed at Camp Shoemaker, California for 10 months and at Astoria, Oregon, for 21 months. She received her discharge in August 1946.
On October 26, 1946 she was united in marriage to Gerald Steffen at Greenwood. They have resided on a farm northeast of Greenwood in the Town of Warner, since their marriage.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and its St. Ann’s Society, the
Hemlock Aid and the K.S.K.J. Society of Willard.
