Dumke, Dennis G. (23 April 1957 - 21 February 2014)
Dennis G. Dumke, age 56, of Owen, died as the result of an automobile accident
on Friday, February 21, 2014. A Memorial Service was held at 7:30 p.m. on
Wednesday, February 26, 2014, at Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Owen. Pastor
Bruce Jahnke officiated. Family and friends were welcome from 3:00 p.m. until
time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
Dennis was born on April 23, 1957, in Stanley, the son of Clarence and Delores (Dulek)
Dumke, Sr. He graduated from Owen-Withee High School in 1975. Dennis worked in
Menomonie as foreman for Master Industries/Packaging for 35 years.
He liked to shoot pool, throw darts, and take power naps. Dennis also liked to
have fun and make people happy. His pride and joy was his family; he loved to
spend time with his grandchildren and will dearly be missed by all who knew him.
Dennis is survived by his children: Jeremiah “Jay” Dumke of Bellevue, NE, and
Joan (Gary) Mann of Abbotsford; three grandchildren; Harlee, Scott and Kaiden;
his mother Delores Dumke of Owen; two brothers; Clarence Janice Dumke Jr. of
Oshkosh and larry Dumke of Owen; and a niece, Pamela Dumke of Oshkosh.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Sr., and his sister, Darlene
Schreiner.

Two-Vehicle Crash in Clark County Claims Life of Owen Man
Clark County authorities are investigating a two-vehicle crash that took the
life of one of the drivers. On Friday, February 21, 2014, at about 8:33 a.m.,
the Clark County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call of an accident at the
intersection of County Highway O and State Highway 29 in the Township of Hixon.
Initial investigation indicates that a vehicle driven by Dennis G. Dumke, 56, of
Owen, was traveling north on CTH O and approached the intersection of State
Highway 29. Dumke entered the intersection and failed to yield to a semi-tractor
trailer being driven by Daniel W. Landrum, 42, of Wausau, going west. Landrum
swerved to try to avoid the vehicle but was struck on the driver’s side. Landrum
was wearing his seatbelt, but Dumke was not, and was ejected from his pick-up
truck. Dumke was pronounced dead at the scene by the Clark County Coroner
Richard Schleifer.
The Owen-Withee Ambulance and Fire Department and the Clark County Sheriff’s
Office responded to the scene. The Clark County Sheriff’s Office is continuing
the investigation of the crash. This is the second fatality for Clark County in
2014.

Two-Vehicle Crash claims Life of Owen Man
Dennis G. Dumke, 56, Owen, was killed Friday morning in a two-vehicle crash at
the intersection of CTH O and STH 29 in the Town of Hixon. The 911 call came in
to the Clark County Sheriff’s Department Friday at approximately 8:33 a.m.
According to the initial investigation, Dumke was traveling north on CTH O and
approached the intersection of STH 29. Dumke entered the intersection and failed
to yield to a semi-tractor pulling a trailer heading west. Daniel W. Landrum,
42, Wausau, was driving the semi-tractor.
Landrum swerved to try to avoid the vehicle, but was impacted on the driver
side. Landrum was wearing a seatbelt. Dumke was not wearing a seatbelt. He was
ejected from his pickup truck.
Clark County Coroner Richard Schleifer pronounced Dumke dead at the scene.
The Owen-Withee Ambulance and Fire Department and the Clark County Sheriff’s
Department responded to the scene.
The Clark County Sheriff’s Department is continuing the investigation into the
crash, which is the second fatality for Clark County in 2014.
