Stringer, Charles (20 May 1890 - 23 December 1971)

Funeral services for Charles Stringer, 81, of Chili, who died December 23 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield, were held Sunday, December 26, at 2 p.m. from Immanuel United Methodist Church in Chili. The Rev. L. L. McCormick officiated and burial was made in the Lynn Cemetery. The Gilbertson Funeral Home at Granton was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Stringer was born May 20, 1890, in Dunnville, Ontario, Canada. His marriage to the former Jean Hilda Duffield took place May 20, 1917, in Toronto, Canada. The couple lived in Toronto for a time and moved to Wisconsin in 1924, residing in Milwaukee. They moved to a farm in the Town of Lynn in 1955 and have lived in Chili since 1963.

Mr. Stringer, a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church in Chili, was a Canadian Veteran of World War I.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three sons, Barton and Howard Stringer of Milwaukee and Donald Stringer of Granton; a daughter, Mrs. Raymond (Shirley) Ott or Milwaukee; six grandchildren and on great grandchild.

Pallbearers were Duane Anding, Ezra Schilling, Rex Neinas, John Ott, Charles Stringer and Dennis Dreickosin.

The congregation sang “Blessed Assurance” and “Abide with Me”. Mrs. Norman Faber was the organist.
