Cutting oats is the chief order of business now with the farmers.
Abie Turner put a new roof on Mrs. S.A. Lindsley’s kitchen the past few days.
Mr. and Mrs. Ed Northup entertained Percy Northup and family last Sunday.
Masons have started the wall for Mart Lastofka’s new barn at Panther Creek. The
Wayward Kid is overseer.
Pat Malone of Reedsburg was a guest at the H.H. Lawrence home last Friday.
A surprise was sprung on Miss Alice Root last Thursday night at her home and all
enjoyed themselves immensely.
Abie Turner and crew began to work on A.P. Fulwiler’s barn last Tuesday.
Quite a number from here are attending the patriotic lectures given by Pat
Malone at Loyal.
Nelson Timerson autoed down from Spokeville Monday and whiled away a few hours
in our midst.
Rev. Powell will give an illustrated sermon in the M.E. church next Sunday
afternoon.
Mrs. S.S. Adams has been on the sick list for some time and at present her
condition seems to be much worse.
The Ladies Aid will meet with Mrs. Ida Pease next Wednesday.
The residence of Mr. and Mrs. A.C. Turner was put under quarantine for
diphtheria by health officer, Wm. Rowe, last Saturday, their dAughter being sick
with it.
Algie Vine, Ruth Vande Berg and Mary Ziemba spent Thursday evening with Dale and
Violet Fulwiler.
Mrs. Wm. Rowe is sick with sciatic rheumatism and confined to her room.
Mrs. Daisy ShambAugh of Dubuque, Iowa, was the guest of Mrs. Wm. Rowe the past
week and called on other friends and relatives.
Will Fulwiler and family departed Thursday for their home at Beach, N.D. They
are making the trip in their Ford car. Timothy King of Granton accompanied them.
Mrs. Sadie Lawrence and dAughters, Delia and Vivian, were at Monticello the past
week where they were the guests of her two brothers. Mrs. Lawrence was
accompanied by her mother, Mrs. George Huntley, of Granton.
