Rennak, Mr. and Mrs. Julius (11 June 1917 - !1 June 1967)

Mr. and Mrs. Julius Rennak, R.1, Granton, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Sunday, June 11.

The couple began their golden wedding anniversary by a ten o’clockMass at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church; followed by a dinner for 40 family members and relatives, at Star Lounge Motel. An Open House for relatives, friends and neighbors was held at York Town Hall from2 to 5 p.m.. Tables were decorated for the occasion with a large wedding cake and flowers. Mrs. Rennak wore a corsage of cymbidium orchids and Mr. Rennak a carnation boutonniere, a gify of their daughter.

Ladies of the Friendship Club, to which the Rennaks belong were in charge of refreshments at the Open House.

The couple were married June 11, 1917 at St. Mary’s Church in Neillsville; Rev. Father Weber officiated. Attendants were Daniel Turville, Neillsville, who attended the celebration and Grace Richmond Sprague, Homewood, Illinois.

Julius Rennak was born in Chicago and came to Jackson County with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Rennak, at the age of six. He attended school in Komensky township and on helped his father’s farm until his marriage.

Lulu Richmond was born on a farm in Minnesota and came to Clark County with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Richmond, at the age of five. She is a graduate of Neillsville High School with the class of 1912. She taught rural schools for 7 years in Clark and Jackson Counties. They farmed in Jackson County until 1936 when they bought a farm in York township, where they still reside. Both are in good health. She is a member of Spokeville Homemaker’s Club and the Altar Society of St. Anthony’s Church. He enjoys hunting, fishing and is a member of the Marshfield Bowman’s Club.

Their only son passed away in 1939 at the age of fourteen. Their daughter, Mrs. Leland (Dorothy) Hansen lives on a farm near her parents.

They have six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Immediate relatives attending were: Mr. and Mrs. Leland Hansen, Leonard and Lorraine, Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Hansen and family, Janesville, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hansen and family, Rockford, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Harry Helwig, Stevens Point, Mrs. Roy Richmond, Denver, Colorado, Robert Richmond, Neillsville, Mr. and Mrs. August Rennak, Glenview, Ill, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Stenerson, Black River Falls, Wis. Other relatives attending were: Mr. and Mrs. Charles Biesang, Winona, Minn., Mrs. J. B. McNulty, St. Paul, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Art Heinrich, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Theisen, Mrs. Otto Frieze, and Mrs. M. Graff, all of Chicago. Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Oliver, Alma Center.

Numerous other friends and neighbor extended best wishes during the day.
