Orin R. Koch, 80, Hopkinsville, Ky., died on Wednesday, Jan. 29 at Lourdes
Hospital in Paducah, Ky.
Funeral services were held on Monday, Feb. 3 at St. Michael The Archangel
Catholic Church in Oak Grove, KY, with Rev. David Kennedy officiating. Burial
with full military honors was at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-West.
Hughart and Beard Funeral Home of Hopkinsville assisted the family with
arrangements.

Orin R. Koch, age 80 of Hopkinsville, died at 3:25 a.m. Wednesday, January 29,
2014 at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah of natural causes.
Funeral Mass will be 11:30 a.m. Monday, February 3, 2014 at St. Michael the
Archangel Catholic Church in Oak Grove, with Father David Kennedy officiating.
Burial will follow in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West. Hughart & Beard Funeral
Home in Hopkinsville in charge of arrangements.
A native of Stetsonville, Wisconsin, he was born October 7, 1933, the son of the
late Otto and Matilda Koch. He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel
Catholic Church. He was a retired 1st Sergeant in the U.S. Army. He was a
life-time member of the VFW Post 1913, and a member of the 187 Rakkasan Infantry
Regimen of the 101st Airborne Division.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia (Franke) Koch; 2 sons, Dean Koch (Edith) of
Hopkinsville and Dan Koch (Susan) of LaFayette, Georgia; 5 grandchildren,
Shannon Wicks, Sheena Koch, Brooke Sumner, Stevi White and Jamie Davis; 8
great-grandchildren, Ryan Wells, Hannah Wells, Alexis Sumner, Hannah Sumner,
Gavin White, Ayden Davis, Gage White and Kindle White.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , PO
Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101.
