Orth, Gerald "Jerry" Myron (1 NOV 1937 - 14 FEB 2014)
Gerald "Jerry" Myron Orth, age 76, of Owen, died unexpectedly at his home on
Friday, February 14, 2014. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM
on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Owen. Father
Janusz Kowalski will officiate. Burial will be held in Riverside Cemetery with
Military Honors provided by the Owen American Legion Post #123. Family and
friends are welcome from 9:00 AM until time of service Wednesday at the church.
The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Owen is entrusted with the arrangements.
He was born on November 1, 1937 in the Town of Mayville, WI, the son of Myron
and Martha (Neumann) Orth. Jerry attended Owen Grade School and was a 1955
graduate of Owen High School. He was employed with Fairbanks Morse Beloit and a
contractor for GTE. Jerry was drafted into the US Army in 1960 and was honorably
discharged in 1962. He then worked for Foremost Foods/Northland Foods from
1963-1994. After retirement, Jerry was a courier for Kerry, Inc.
In 1963, he was united in marriage to Karen Mlejnek and they later divorced
On September 17, 1988, Jerry was united in marriage to Patricia "Patty" (Schillinger)
Stinson at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Marshfield.
He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church helping at the Annual Turkey
Dinner, Summer Fest, helping the PCCW Ladies for the Withee Days Pie Stand and a
member of the O-W Vets Club.
Jerry enjoyed fishing, gardening, cooking, making maple syrup, hunting, logging,
camping at Lake Holcombe, watching his grandchildren play sports and NASCAR.
Jerry will be sadly missed by his wife of 25 years, Patricia "Patty" Orth of
Owen; his daughter, Joni Kay Orth of Marshfield; his step-daughter, Heidi
(Clint) Zank and grandson, Brayden of Neillsville; his step-son, Erik (Tammy)
Stinson and grandchildren: Roy, Lilli and Charlotte of Owen. He is further
survived by his brother, Rodney "Goose" Orth of Medford, many aunts, nieces,
nephews, friends and "ALL the ANIMALS he fed in the ORTH WOODS".
He was preceded in death by his parents, Myron and Martha; infant daughter,
Peggy Lynn at birth; two sisters, Shirley at birth and Beverly Kostik and a
brother, Wayne Orth.
