Miss Marie Ellen Alexander, Owen and Mr. Sheldon Walter Heck, Greenwood,
exchanged wedding vows Saturday, August 12 at 1:30 p.m. at St Luke’s Lutheran
Church, route 1, Unity.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Walter Alexander, Owen and Mr. and Mrs.
Floyd Heck, Greenwood.
The Rev. Rasch officiated at the wedding ceremony. Mrs. Vernon Boss was the
organist and Mrs. Grant Sloan sang “Oh Promise Me” and “Perfect Love.”
The bride given in marriage by her father wore a floor length gown of chantilly
lace with basque bodice and full skirt fashioned by ruffles and accented by
sequins. Her bouffant illusion veil was secured to a crown of lace and aurora
borealis crystals.
Miss Marlene Alexander, Owen, was maid of honor and Miss Judy Shupe, Greenwood,
was the bridesmaid.
The aides donned light blue floor length gowns, with empire waistlines and blue
flower headpieces. They carried pink and white carnations
Mr. Richard Niederwerfer, Watertown, was the best man, Mr. Leonard Alexander,
Unity was the groomsman. Ushers were Dale and David Alexander, Owen.
A reception was held from 2-4 p.m. at the bride’s parental home. The supper was
served in the church basement and a wedding dance that evening at the Spencer
Hall in Spencer.
The bride graduated this spring from Loyal High School and her husband with the
class of 1962 from Neillsville High School. After a wedding trip to Louisiana
and other southeran states the couple will reside on a farm on route 1,
Greenwood where the groom operates a farm.
Out of town guests came from Watertown, Prairie du Chien, Milwaukee, Waukegan,
Illinois, Owen, Loyal, Greenwood, Neillsville, Fort Atkinson, Janesville, Unity
and Oconomowoc.
