Sternitzky, Gilbert, Sr. (25 December 1893 - 30 January 1972)
Gilbert Sternitzky, Sr., 78, of Plymouth died Sunday night at Ricky Knoll where
he had been a patient for eight months. Born December 25, 1893, in the Town of
Lynn, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Sternitzky. On December 18,
1917, he was married to Frieda William of Lynn. They resided there until the
early 1920’s when they moved to Plymouth. Mrs. Sternitzky died April 12, 1970.
Mr. Sternitzky was a veteran of World War II and served with the army in France.
A carpenter by trade, he was employed in Plymouth until retiring in 1960. He was
a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Plymouth.
Survivors include two sons, Norbert of Plymouth and Gilbert, Jr., of Hoard
Grove; a granddaughter; two brothers, Leo and Raymond Sternitzky, both of Lynn;
and three sisters, Mrs. Frieda Johnson of Chili, Mrs. Carl (Edna) Jens of
Plymouth, and Mrs. Robert (Lula) Ure of Lynn.
Funeral services were held Wednesday in Plymouth. The Rev. Robert Wudy
officiated and burial was made in Plymouth Woodlawn Cemetery.
Among relatives who attended the service were Mr. and Mrs. Leo Sternitzky, Mr.
and Mrs. Raymond Sternitzky, Mrs. Frieda Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Ure and Mr.
and Mrs. Robert Ure.
