Clintsman, Robert E. (22 APR 1932 – 18 JAN 2014)

Robert E. Clintsman Sr., 81, Greenwood, died on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014, at Ministry Saint Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, with his family at his bedside. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Thursday, Jan. 23, at Cuddie Funeral Home in Greenwood. Rev. Patsy Roe will officiate. Burial will follow in the Greenwood City Cemetery. Bob's grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be held at Cuddie Funeral Home, on Thursday, from 9 a.m., until the time of services.

Robert Eugene Clintsman was born on April 22, 1932, in Madison, the son of Floyd and Helen (nee Moore) Clintsman. He was raised on the family farm near Greenwood and received his education at Hemlock School and Greenwood High School. After completing his education, Bob farmed and trucked with his dad until his marriage to Eleanor Tyrrell on Nov. 15, 1952, at Grace United Methodist Church in Greenwood. He drove truck, hauling milk and cattle for several years, until becoming employed with the Loyal School District as a janitor for 19 years. In 1987, Bob went back to driving truck, with his wife, Eleanor, for G.H. Miller in Wisconsin Rapids, until retiring in 1999. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and the Royal
Neighbors of America. Bob enjoyed spending time with his family and horse pulls.

He will be dearly missed by his wife, Eleanor, Greenwood; his children, Roxane (Mike) Purgett, Greenwood, Dennis Clintsman, Mt. Shasta, Calif., Diane (James) Zimmerman, Janesville, and Nancy (Jared) Ashland, Appleton; eight grandchildren, Melissa, Michael, Kristine, Kimberly, Caryn, Ben, Chelsea and Carrie; two step-grandchildren, Greg and Michelle; seven great-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Robert Clintsman Jr., in September 2003; and his grandson, David Rakestraw, in January 1988.
