Wissell, Charles E. (26 SEP 1927 – 11 JAN 2014)
Charles E. Wissell, 86, Prescott Valley, Ariz., went to his heavenly home on
Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014. A celebration of life service will be deferred to
spring.
Charles Edwin Wissell was born on Sept. 26, 1927, in Linn Township near Lake
Geneva in Walworth County. For more than 45 years, he excelled at dairy farming
in Illinois and Wisconsin under the name Wynn-Ellen Farms, the last of which was
in Loyal. He moved to Arizona in 1996 where he managed a horse ranch and was a
dedicated Wal-Mart employee for more than 10 years. Chuck was an active
state, district and county member of the Holstein-Friesian Association for
nearly 30 years. He served as president of the Clark County Holstein-Friesian
Board. He was an avid bowler and a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan and he was known
for his clever humor, heart-warming laugh and shining blue eyes. Chuck took
pride in everything he did, and despite being a humble farmer, he was a very
wealthy man in terms of the love he fostered among his family and friends.
“Chuck” is survived by his wife, Grace (nee Bottlemy); eight children, Peggy
(Dennis) Beaver, Timothy Wissell, Kay (Patrick) Weaver, Jack (Chris) Wissell,
L.A. (Kevin) Burnett, Mary (Gary) Rindfleisch, Janice Wissell and William
(Debbie) Wissell; 18 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and his siblings,
Evelyn Cornue, James (Ardith) Wissell, Robert (Louise) Wissell, Margaret (Hilmer)
Heike and Richard (Joan) Wissell.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Agnes Wissell; a brother,
William Wissell Jr.; and a grandson, Justin Rohde.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Chuck’s name to
Granite Mountain Hospice, 3107 Clearwater Dr., Prescott, AZ 86305.
