Pallbearers were Bill Green, Michael Green, Richard Sinette, Rick Sinette, Frank Procopinski and Chris Jacob.

Dever Green was born on Dec. 28, 1915, in a log shanty near Stanley, the son of William and Martha (nee Davis) Green. He attended both Otter Creek and Popple Hill Country Schools near Stanley. He worked on the family farm as well as other farms in the area. At age 17, he and the family moved to
Thorp until he entered the United States Army Air Corp at age 21. Dever proudly served his country during World War II while overseas in North Africa, Sicily and India until his honorable discharge in 1945. He married Freda Green on Nov. 10, 1947, in Pine City, Minn. She survives. They moved to Loyal where they owned and operated a dairy farm from 1947-81. Retired from farming but not retired from working, Dever then worked for Roth Manufacturing and E-Z Camper. They moved to Rozellville in 1991. Dever later retired and they moved to the Otter Lake area for a period of time before returning to Loyal where he and Freda resided until the present. His hobbies included solving crossword puzzles, being a greeter at
The Highground in Neillsville, delivering Meals On Wheels, driving shuttle bus for the Marshfield Clinic, and spending time at Otter Lake. His greatest love was the 39 years of square dancing with his wife and dance partner, Freda. Memberships included the Loyal United Methodist Church, Circle 8 Square Dance Club, Clark County Aging and Nutrition Program and Loyal American Legion Post 175.

Survivors include his wife, Freda Green, Loyal; one son, Leonard (Barbara) Green, Mosinee; one daughter, Alice (Ron) Krause, Woodstock, Ill.; five grandchildren, Virginia, Theresa, Tina, Billy and Michael; eight great-grandchildren, Brandon, Christina, Kevin, Justin, Michael, Corben, Halie, Owynn, Jacob and Nick; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
