Johnson, Colleen, M. (27 DEC 1941 – 13 MAR 2014)
Colleen Johnson, age 72, of Neillsville, WI died Thursday, March 13, 2014 at her
home.
Colleen Mary Gaffney was born on December 27, 1941 at home in Owen, WI the
daughter of Judge Richard F. and Alice E. (McKee) Gaffney. She attended and
graduated from Owen-Withee High School in 1960 and then moved to Beaufort, S.C.
where her first daughter, Alicia was born. Later that same year they moved back
to Owen and her second daughter, Elizabeth was born. After her daughters were in
school, Colleen began working. She started at ITT Finance in Owen, where she
worked for about 10 years. In the mid 1970's she began working at the Alcohol
and Drug Counsel. Later, she became a Child Support Specialist in the Clark
County Child Support Department. Colleen eventually became the Director of that
department, and held that position until her retirement in 2006.
She is survived by her two daughters, Alicia (Scott) Klueckmann of Neillsville,
WI and Elizabeth (Dennis) Schaal of Platteville, WI, two grandchildren, Aaron
(Jessica) Nelson and Paul Nelson and a great granddaughter, Maddy Nelson.
Colleen is further survived by three siblings, Janet (Dave) Thomas of Edgerton,
WI, Rich Gaffney of Neillsville, WI and Kathy Gaffney of Minneapolis, MN, along
with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and four siblings, Toni, Susan, Pat and
Tim.
A Memorial Visitation for Colleen will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday
at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville.
