Berg, Eva Rae (Peterson) (25 JAN 1910 - 25 FEB 2014)
Former Ogema resident Eva Rae Berg, 104, Medford, died on Tuesday, Feb. 25 at
Memorial Nursing and Rehab Center in Medford, where she had resided the past six
years.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 4 at Ogema Baptist Church in
Ogema, with Rev. Rodney Price officiating. Interment will take place at Hillside
Cemetery in Ogema.
Pallbearers are Donald Rhody, and Richard, Donald and Jerry Blomberg. Visitation
will be held at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
Hemer Funeral Homes of Medford and Rib Lake assisted the family with
arrangements.
The former Eva Peterson was born on January 25, 1910 in the Town of Ogema, Price
County, to the late Ferdinand and Anna (Fryk) Peterson. She attended Ogema
Elementary School and was a 1927 graduate of Westboro High School.
In 1945 at Janesville, she married Emil Berg, who preceded her in death in 1986.
She worked as a telephone operator in Ogema for 45 years for the Price County
Telephone Company, retiring with honors.
She was a member of Ogema Baptist Church where she was very active and taught
Sunday school for over 50 years. She enjoyed crocheting, making doilies,
curtains, pictures, tablecloths and bedspreads.
She is survived by seven nieces, Donna Mae (Otto) Klessig of Ogema, Geraldine
Ann (Gerry) Sargent of Sturgeon Bay, Karen (Gene) Utechet of Wausau, Faye
Schnepf of Eau Claire, Ann (Ed) Anderson of Rangely, Colo., Barbara (Bob) Jordan
of Trussville, Ala., and Darlene (Richard) Johnson of Janesville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four siblings, Sherwood
Benhart, Mildred Foss, Irving Peterson and Mary Pearson.
