Benedict, Harvey Lee (04 June 1919– 17 Sept 1967)
Joint funeral services were conducted Wednesday, September 20, at2 p.m. at the
Loyal Methodist Church for Arthur Judd, 79, Loyal, who died at 9:30 a.m. Sunday
at Memorial Hospital in Neillsville, and for his nephew, Harvey Lee Benidict,
51, Caladonia, who died at 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Memorial Hospital, Watertown, of
a heart attack. He was enroute to Loyal to make arrangements for the funeral of
his uncle.
The Myre Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements and burial was made in
the Loyal Cemetery. The Rev. Lelan and Ellen Shaw officiated.
Mr. Judd was born May 24, 1888, in Dodge County, and as a young man came to
Loyal where he had resided since, with the exception of ten years when he lived
in Spring Valley. He worked as a farm hand and never married.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Two brothers and four sisters preceded him in death.
Mr Benedict was born June 4, 1919, in the town of York, Clark County, and farmed
in that area until 12 years ago when he moved to Caledonia where he was employed
at American Motor Co. at Kenosha as a spot welder.
April 28, 1952 he married Rosabel Ladwig, who survives him , at Dubuque, Iowa.
Other survivors are a daughter, Gail. 9, at home; and a step-son, Gene Tess,
Armed forced in Viet Nam.
He was preceded in death by a son in infancy
Pallbearers for the joint funeral were Jerome and John Wehe, Delmar Bartsch,
Ervin and Edwin Anderegg and Herman Noeldner.
Mr. William Chambers the soloist sang “Abide With Me,” and “I Know Not What The
Future Hath.” He was accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Byron Zepplin.
