Miss Betty Wehrmann, 1739 Evergreen, St. Charles, Illinois and Mr. Thomas R.
Comstock, 407 S. 13th Ave., St. Charles, Illinois exchanged wedding vows on
September 23 at 4:30 p.m. Parents of the couple and Mr. and Mrs. Albert
Wehrmann, route 1, Loyal and Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Comstock, 407 S. 13th Ave., St.
Charles, Illinois.
Dr. Philip Nystrand performed the wedding ceremony at Baker Memorial Methodist
Church, St. Charles, Illinois. Misses Sherri and Bonnie Wehrmann sang
“Twenty-Third Psalm,” Mrs. Russell Haslow sang “The Lord’s Prayer” and the
congregation sang “O Perfect Love.”
Gladiolus decorated the altar and reserved pews. The bride given in marriage by
her father was seen in a floor-length dress with a slight A-line effect with a
empire waistline of imported French crepe, lace trimmed on front of dress in the
same as the cathedral train attached at the shoulders. Her fingertip veil of
silk illusion was attached to a pill box hat. She carried Phal. orchids,
stephanotis, ivy and cochiulis.
Mrs. Russell Haslow, Loyal, sister of the bride, was the matron of honor, Miss
Rita Stumpner, Wausau, and Mrs. James Treichel, Oregon, sister of the bride,
were the bridesmaids.
The matron of honor was seen in champagne crepe dress with lace jacket coming to
the empire waistline. The aides wore identical dresses to that of the matron of
honor in avocado green. They each carried baskets of bronze mums.
Jerad Comstock, St. Charles, Illinois, was his brothers best man. Mr. Gary
Schelstreet, St. Charles, Illinois and Mr. James Treichel, Oregon, were the
groomsmen, and ushers were R. William Bryant, St. Charles and Russell Haslow,
Loyal.
The reception after the ceremony was scheduled at the V.F.W. Hall in St. Charles.
The bride attended Loyal Public Schools and Wisconsin State University-Eau Claire and works for DuKane Corporation in St. Charles, Ill., where she and her husband will reside. He is a member of the St. Charles Fire Department and attended St. Charles Public Schools and Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, Ill.
The newlyweds are on a week’s honeymoon in Michigan and Wisconsin.
