At the San Mateo Chapel at Camp Pendleton, nuptials were read uniting in marriage, Miss Linda Lou Watson and 2nd Lt. William Erwin Zelm. The military wedding included the arch of swords formed by eight Marine Corps lieutenants in their dress blues, was held at seven o’clock in the evening on Saturday, Feb. 20, 1965. Performing the wedding ceremony was the Rev. Vern Stenbern, captain, United States Navy Reserves, who serves as minister of the American Lutheran Church. The bride was given in marriage by Mr. M. Miller, San Clemente, Calif.

The bride, a senior student at the University of Wisconsin at Madison, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald A. Watson of route 1, Richland Center. The groom, a second lieutenant serving in the United States Marine Corps, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Zelm of Longwood (Clark Co., Wis.)

The bride wore a crepe sheath gown of street length in pastel turquoise with long sleeves. The V-shaped neckline was fashioned with a wide collar and tie. She wore a corsage of three gardenias.

Attending the bride as maid of honor was Mrs. Donald Jeruc of San Clemente, Calif., attired in a two-piece turquoise crepe sheath. The bridesmaid was Mrs. Jim Simmons of Laguna Beach, Calif., gowned in a pink silk dress with full skirt. Both wore corsages made of two gardenias.

Attending the groom as best man was Second Lt. Donald Jeruc, USMC, San Clemente, and the groomsman was Second Lt. Harvey Schmitt, USMC, also of San Clemente. The groom and his groomsmen wore their dress blue uniforms of the USMC.

Serving as usher was Second Lt. Terry Smith, USMC, Oceanside, Calif.

Following the wedding a reception was held at the home of Second Lt. and Mrs. Jim Simmons of Laguna Beach.

The bride is presently a senior at the University of Wisconsin, affiliated with Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority. She will continue her education in June and will graduate in January of 1966.

The groom is a graduate of the Owen High School, a graduate of the University of Wisconsin with a B.S. degree in Mathematics. He is affiliated with Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity. He is a second lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps and is presently serving a 12 month tour of duty in Okinawa. He left in March.

When the groom returns from Okinawa a reception will be given for friends and relatives at the bride’s home, after which the bride and groom will leave for a belated two-week honeymoon. Their home will be in San Clemente, Calif.
