Lasiuk, Mary Ann (6 December 1934 - 13 March 2014)
Mary Ann was born in Stanley, WI on December 6, 1934, to Adolph and Anna Olocki.
She passed away on March 13, 2014. She was 79 years old.
Mary Ann loved her family. She is survived by her cherished husband, Richard;
and her adoring children: Debbie (widowed/Larry) Kazle, Jazz Elle of Santa Cruz
CA, John (Rose) of Hudson, WI, David of Chippewa Falls, Joanie (Craig) Kocher of
Waverly MN; her nine grandchildren: Nathan, Leah, Sarah, Alexander, Ariel,
Zachary, Anna, Jordan, and Shelby; daughter-in-law, Genevieve; and
brothers-in-law: Ronald and Elmer.
She was preceded in death by son, Rick; 11 siblings: brothers, Matt, Stan,
Frank, Chet, Henry, Robert, and sisters, Jean, Nell, Rose, Fran, Stella; and
sister-in-law, Helene Opoka.
Mary Ann met “Richie” Richard Lasiuk at a polka dance and they married June 16,
1953. Mary Ann enjoyed gardening and had up to five flower beds at one time. She
liked to travel with her family and they switched between Hawaii & Florida as
snowbirds in the winter. She also enjoyed playing cards and bird watching. As a
young mother, she was active in PTA, was a Girl Scout Leader, and volunteered
often for church functions.
Mary Ann was her husband’s support and accountant for their television business
in Thorp, WI for many years and a sporting goods manager at the Eau Claire
Co-op.

Funeral services took place at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at St.
Mary’s Catholic Church, 1812 Lynn Avenue, Altoona, WI. Father Derek Sakowski
officiated. Committal service took place at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon in the
St. Hedwig Cemetery in Thorp, Wisconsin. Visitation took place on Tuesday
evening, March 18, 2014, at Fuller Speckien Hulke Funeral home from 4 - 7 p.m.
with a prayer service at 7 p.m. to conclude the evening’s visitation. Visitation
continued at the church Wednesday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of
service.
