Wittlinger, Charles (12 May, 1905 – 01 Nov 1967)
Funeral services were held for Charles Wittlinger, Amery, formerly of Loyal at 2
p.m. Saturday, November 4, at Trinity Lutheran Church of Loyal. The Rev. A. M.
Moldenhauer officiated and burial was made in the town of Beaver cemetery. The
Myre Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Wittlinger died at the age of 62 of a heart attack at his homeon Wednesday
morning, November 1.
He was born May 12, 1905 in the town of Beaver. In 1937 he married Irene
Steffen, who survives. He received his education at the East Beaver School. The
couple farmed in this area until 12 years ago when they moved to Amery.
Pallbearers were all nephews: Glen Clouse, Vern Riplinger, Julius Lange, Charles
Songstad, Melvin Ayer, and Merlin Miller.
Mrs. Erwin Dux accompanied at the organ by Mrs. John A. Olsen, sang “What A
Friend We Have In Jesus,” and “Nearer My God to Thee.”
Survivors besides his wife are two daughters, Mrs. Douglas (Donna) Karis and
Mrs. Matson (Patsy Walker, Rice Lake; and a son, Eugene, Amery; five
grandchildren; and six sisters, Mrs. Lena Bauer, Wisconsin Rapids; Mrs. Walter
Ayer, Riplinger, Mrs. Nada Miller, Milwaukee; Mrs. Julius Lange, Holcombe; Mrs.
Otto Becker, Owen; and Mrs. Milton Songstad, Derando.
He was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers.
