Goelden, Harold Frank (4 OCT 1933 - 13 MAR 2014)

Harold Frank Goelden, age 80, of Wausau, died peacefully at Benedictine Manor of Wausau on Thursday, March 13, 2014.

He was born Oct 4, 1933, in Marathon County to Laura (Strebe) and Frank Goelden.

Goelden attended Abbotsford schools and graduated n 1951 from Abbotsford High School. On June 4, 1955, he married JoAnne Markus at Zion Lutheran Church in Colby. He served as staff sergeant track vehicle specialist in the United States Army from 1955 to 1957.

Harold and JoAnne moved to Wausau in 1957, where he worked as an auto and truck mechanic at Ryan/Bob Johnson Chevrolet and Wausau Truck Sales, Inc. until he started Goelden Trucking Company, which he ran as an owner/operator until his retirement.

Harold enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, watching and attending NASCAR, Green Bay Packer and Wisconsin Badger sporting events.

Harold is survived by he wife, JoAnne Goelden; a son, Michael (Wendy) Goelden, Wausau; a daughter, Nancy (Alan) Keller, Janesville; two grandchildren; and a sister, Elvira (Robert) Kilty, Spencer.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Laura Leonard and Frank Goelden.

The funeral service was at Brainerd Funeral Home, Wausau, on March 17 following the visitation with Pastor Joel Brandt officiating.

A private entombment service will be held at RESTLAWN MEMORIAL PARK, Wausau.
