Schmidt, Charlene A. (11 APR 1950 – 19 MAR 2014)
Charlene A. Schmidt, 63, Eleva, formerly of Loyal, was granted her angel wings
on Wednesday, March 19, 2014, with her family by her side after a long battle
with breast cancer. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, March
22, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Loyal. Pallbearers were Aaron Budtke, Alec
Hannum, Dustin Dietel, Jeremiah Dietel, Aaron Rueth and Chad Kollmansberger.
Honorary pallbearers were Scott Hannum and Sergio Dietel.
Charlene Ann Hannum was born on April 11, 1950, in Marshfield, the daughter of
Francis and Harriet (nee Rottscheit) Hannum. She was raised and received her
education in Marshfield, graduating from Columbus High School in 1968. She
married Carl R. Mischka in 1977. They later divorced. Char later married Dale M.
Schmidt on July 11, 1987, at St. John's Catholic Church in Marshfield. Although
she loved quilting, sewing, decorating and genealogy, her greatest joy was
spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Dale Schmidt; her daughter, Renee
(Troy) Daniel; her son, Rodney (Christina) Mischka; four grandchildren, Jackson,
Denver, Mariah Jo and Tatum; three brothers, Richard Hannum, Robert (Jean)
Hannum, and Lawrence (Chris) Hannum; two sisters, Sheila (Peter) Dietel and Lori
(Dennis) Budtke; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
