Wuethrich, Trevor (Citizen of the Year – 2014)
.
Like his grandfather and father before him, Trevor Wuethrich does a lot more for
his hometown than run the community’s largest private employer. He helps
behind-the-scenes to organize and support community events and gives of his time
and energy to make the town where he grew up a better place to live.
On Sunday, before the Greenwood Chamber of Commerce named Wuethrich as its
annual citizen of the year award winner, he spent the day coaching his
daughter’s basketball team. He had already agreed to again serve as master of
ceremonies for the Chamber banquet and expected to be hearing someone else’s
name called for the top citizen honor.
It was the third time in the 34-year history of the Greenwood Chamber of
Commerce citizen award that a Wuethrich name has been engraved onto the annual
plaque. John D. Wuethrich, Trevor’s grandfather, was so honored in 1989, and his
father, Dallas, received the tribute in 2006. Like Trevor, they were all
involved in supporting the local schools, churches and community events.
Professionally, Trevor is part owner of Grassland Dairy Products, the area’s
largest private employer and the largest butter manufacturer in the country.
Other business enterprises associated with Grassland with which he is involved
are Wuethrich Transportation Inc., Greenwood Milk Products Inc., Wuethrich
Brothers LLC (with sites in Nebraska and Utah) and Graf Creamery. He’s currently
on the board of directors for the Wisconsin Dairy Products Association and
belongs to regional and state cheesemakers associations.
A 1992 Greenwood High School graduate, Trevor and his wife, Tonia, have three
daughters. He has or is coaching junior high and elementary girls basketball
teams and is a member of the local Athletic Booster Club. He’s a member of Our
Savior’s Lutheran Church and is a past church board member.
Trevor serves on the Memorial Medical Center board of directors, and has been a
Clark County Economic Development Corp. board member. He is a past coordinator
of the Greenwood Dairy Days parade, and still emcees that event for the new
Greenwood Summer Fest. He’s a frequent volunteer at various community events and
festivals.
