Strand, Eno Prince (13 April 1899 - 5 February 1972)

Funeral services for Eno Prince Strand, 72, of Neillsville, who died February 5, were held Tuesday, February 8, at 1:30 p.m. from the Georgas Funeral Home. The Rev. Elmer Rasmussen of Marshfield officiated and burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Eno Strand, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Strand, was born April 13, 1899, at Duluth, Mn. He was educated in Duluth schools and also attended the University of Minnesota school of electrical engineering. Mr. Strand worked in Minneapolis and spent much of the World War II period working on the construction of Army camps in the South. The Strands came to Neillsville in 1945 and he worked here as an electrician. They moved to Fairchild in 1950 but spent the past two winters at the hotel here.

Mr. Strand’s marriage to the former Sarah (Sadie) Campbell took place December 29, 1921 in Duluth. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sisters, Mrs. Fred (Helen) Noreen of Duluth, Mn, and Mrs. Mercedes Bachand of Seattle, Wa.

Pallbearers were: Herb Scheel, Eric Anderson, O. W. Gluch, John Mazola, Ernest Schroeder and Theodore Morrison. Mrs. Kerrene Wrangell of Arpin sang “God Understands” and “God’s Tomorrow”, accompanied by Mrs. Alice Johnson, also of Arpin.

Those from out of town who attended the services included Mr. and Mrs. Edward S. Aune and Mrs. Kay Kronberg of Bloomington, Mn, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Noreen of Duluth, Mn, Robert Ottley of Minneapolis, Mn, Ernest Schroeder of Marshfield and Theodore Morrison of Arpin.
