American Legion Celebrates (98 Years – 6 March 2017)
American Legion Member Carol Oliver proudly displays the Certificate of
Appreciation she received March 6 at Neillsville American Legion Post 73. Oliver
volunteers for many events and her efforts are truly appreciated.
At the same gathering, a large crowd of Legion and Auxiliary members, plus
family members and friends of honorees Radford Reither, Ken Drost, and Don
Warren, enjoyed a delicious potluck meal, and a donated birthday cake with an
edible American Legion emblem on it. The American Legion celebrated its 98th
birthday during the month of March. Legion officials reported the membership
list now stands at 203.
The Ladies Auxiliary will be having a rummage sale Wednesday, April 19, and
Thursday, April 20. Donated items will be accepted Tuesday, April 18, starting
at noon. The rummage sale is a fundraiser for local scholarships.
