Borosewicz, Helen Evelyn (Cabak) (1 FEB 1923 - 28 MAR 2014)

Helen Evelyn Borosewicz, 91, passed away on Friday, March 28, 2014, at Ladysmith Care and Rehab Center in Ladysmith.

Helen was born on February 1, 1923, to John and Amelia Cabak of Hawkins. She was raised, schooled and spent most of her life in the Hawkins area. She and William Borosewicz were married on September 6, 1941. Together they raised six children on their dairy farm in the township of South Fork. In 1976, they moved to their new home in the township of Hawkins.

She lost her husband, Bill, on January 3, 1982, after 41 years of marriage.

Helen loved the outdoors and was no stranger to hard work. Most of the farm work was without the modern conveniences enjoyed today. She labored along side her husband on their dairy farm while maintaining a warm and comfortable home. Her cooking was fabulous and there was always something wonderful right out of the oven.

She planted a huge vegetable garden and always seemed to find a few spare minutes to have a lovely flower garden. Her love for flowers could be truly appreciated by all who passed by her home in Hawkins. Her yard busted with color and fragrance as it was filled with a vast array of flowers, trees and plants from early spring to late fall.

We are thankful for all the time we had together, the lessons of life she taught us, and for the unconditional love she gave.

Survivors include, a son, Robert (Carolyn) Borosewicz of Sumner, Wash.; daughters, Gloria Miller of Rogers, Ark., Jane (Larry) Hruby of Hawkins, June (Doug) Pavlik of Ladysmith, and Joan (Emery) Heath of Jump River; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren with twin great-grandchildren coming soon; and a sister, Josephine Zondlo of Minneapolis, Minn.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; daughter, Marie (Duane) Biller; parents, John and Amelia Cabak; brothers, William, John, Raymond and Andrew Cabak; and sisters, Frances Droese, Mary Monusko and Julia Bohrer.

Funeral services were held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hawkins on Monday, March 31, with Deacon Doug Sorenson officiating. She will be laid to rest along side her husband, Bill, at Hillcrest Cemetery in Hawkins. Nash-Jackan Funeral Home of Ladysmith assisted the family with arrangements.
