Standiford, Roger (Melvin Jones Award – 2014)
Greenwood Lions Club member Roger Standiford has been presented with the Lions
International Melvin Jones Award. Lion International recognizes outstanding
individuals by bestowing on them an award that is named for its founder, Melvin
Jones. This Fellowship Award is the highest form of recognition and embodies
humanitarian ideas consistent with the nature and purpose of Lionism. The
recipient of this award becomes a model because of the exemplary service to his
club and the community for which it serves. Roger, pictured with his wife,
Diane, is a charter member of the Greenwood Lions which was formed in 1972. He
has held many offices in the club and has been an active member in its projects
over the last 42 years.
