Otto Behrens returned home from St. Joseph’s Hospital Sunday.
The West Side Ladies Aid will meet Wednesday, Dec. 5th at the home of Henry
Vollrath.
Mrs. George Speich entertained the members of the Interse Club at her home
Wednesday evening.
Carrol Behrens of Stevens Point spent last Wednesday night here with his mother,
Mrs. O.C. Behrens.
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Needham and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Borham visited Kenneth Borham
at Wausau on Sunday.
Strayed – Three 2-yr-old heifers from the Floyd Clintsman pasture. Finder please
notify Floyd Clintsman, Neillsville, Wis.
Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Shaw and daughter of near Marshfield, spent last Thursday
at the A.C. Barr home.
Mrs. Fred Behrens and son Thomas, and Mrs. O.C. Behrens visited Otto Behrens at
St. Joseph’s Hospital., Marshfield, last Thursday.
Abe Speich of Berlin is visiting relatives here. He is suffering from infection
in his leg caused by a cut from a knife while husking corn.
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Needham and son Richard spend from Friday until Sunday
evening a the Paul Borham home.
Friends of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Weikt (Frieda Wohlt) will be interested to know
that they are the parents of two girls born Nov. 15th at Marathon City.
The American Legion Auxiliary will meet at Gullord’s Hall Tuesday evening, Dec.
4th, with Mrs. Harley Thompson and Mrs. O.J. Amundson as hostesses.
Mr. and Mrs. W.C. O’Connell and son John, and the Misses Harriet O’Connell and
Rosetta Hillier spent Saturday and Sunday at the O’Connell and W.F. Neuenfeldt
homes.
Mr. and Mrs. A.F. Sheets and daughter Evangeline were Marshfield callers
Saturday.
Mrs. Wm. Keller of Neillsville and Mrs. Palmer Vinger spent Saturday at
Marshfield.
Mrs. H.A. Brockway went to Hatfield Saturday for a week’s visit at the Wm. Kling
home.
Fred Warnke returned home last week from the hospital at Madison much improved
in health.
Mrs. A.F. Sheets spent Tuesday evening and Wednesday with her daughter
Evangeline at Humbird.
Mrs. Earl Sloniker entertained the members of the Neighborhood Club at her home
last Friday evening.
Mr. and Mrs. E.S. Ellingson and family attended the Wisconsin-Minnesota football
game at Madison Saturday.
Mrs. A.C. Barr, Mrs. Wm. Olson and Mrs. Jos. Brauneis and son spent Monday with
relatives and friends at Neillsville.
Albert Needham, Dell Needham and Clayton Yellowneck of Fennimore spent Thursday
at the Paul Borham home on their way up north hunting.
Miss Evangeline Sheets, who teaches at Humbird, spent the weekend here with her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. A.F. Sheets.
When informed of a chance for board, Paul Wolf was bitten by a police dog, both
in the arm and leg, while entering a residence, last week Tuesday afternoon. Dr.
Olson was called at once to dress the severe injury.
I will take in calves and cattle every Saturday until 11:00 a.m. I will also buy

Mr. and Mrs. H.A. Westcott visited at the Wm. Kling home at Hatfield Saturday.
Mrs. J.S. Andrews and Mrs. Fred Behrens visited Mr. Andrews at Owen Monday.
Mr. and Mrs. P.W. Gullord entertained twelve guests at a dinner party at her
home Monday evening.
Mrs. A.C. Barr and Mrs. Jos. Brauneis and children visited at the A.H. McCarty
home at Longwood.
Ralph Weidman and friends of Reedsburg were visitors at the Harry Hogue home
Thursday on their way north deer hunting.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Althoff left Saturday for Dubuque, Iowa, called there by the
death of Mr. Althoff’s sister. Mrs. F.W. Barr is staying at the Althoff home
during their absence.
Phyllis Mead, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Mead, entertained 17 girlfriends
at her home Monday in honor of her 7th birthday anniversary. Games were played
and a delicious lunch was served by Mrs. Mead. The youngsters all report a
lovely time.
A.C. Ketchum of Millston called on friends here Friday.
The Easy Aces Bridge Club met at the home of Mrs. Lee Jolivette on Monday
evening.
