Howard Corey and Irvin Gates were callers at Wausau Friday.
Palmer Vinger transacted business at St. Paul Tuesday.
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Brauneis Jr. were Marshfield callers Saturday.
Mrs. Jos. Merkel spent Friday and Saturday with relatives and friends at
Marshfield.
Mrs. Palmer Vinger spent Tuesday with friends at Eau Claire.
Geo. Haeuser was a Marshfield business caller Monday.
Odin Wang and Dalmain Flaatz were at Stanley Monday morning.
Mrs. Wm. Neuenfeldt will entertain the members of the Schafskopf club at her
home this evening.
Mrs. Franklin Laabs was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, last week
for treatment.
Mr. and Mrs. W.G. Hartson and Mrs. M.L. Snider were Neillsville callers Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Cox and Mrs. Kit Christie were Marshfield callers
Saturday.
The Misses Alice and Mildred Plank and Nellie Hartson were at Marshfield last
Thursday.
Mr. and Mrs. G.L. Mullendore and the Misses Bienfang and Burkholder were
Marshfield callers Saturday.
Peter Zager, 17, Willard, had the misfortune of cutting his right hand quite
badly Wednesday evening with a root cutter. Several stitches were necessary.
Mrs. Raymond Shaw and daughter, who spent the past week here with her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. A.C. Barr, returned to her home at Marshfield Tuesday.
Mr. and Mrs. A.H. McCarty and Mrs. Howard Farwell of Longwood, visited Saturday
at the A.C. Barr home.
Mr. and Mrs. Albert Shanks left for Montana Tuesday, called there by the serious
illness of their daughter, Mrs. Freedom Jones.
Mr. and Mrs. Odin Wang attended a party and luncheon at Marshfield Saturday
evening, sponsored by the Standard Oil Co.
Mrs. Louis Stoneberg and daughter returned home from Montana Saturday, where
they spent the past two months with relatives and friends.
In the annual meeting of voters at Trinity Church the following officers were
elected: Henry Schendel, chairman; Fred Warnke as deacon; Jos. W. Brauneis as
treasurer, and Rev. Geo. Heilman as secretary.
Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Ehlers, Amelia Morgal of Chicago and Amy Morgal of Tioga
visited Frank Morgal Jr. and the Sacred Heart Hospital at Eau Claire Monday,
where he was operated on for rupture.
Mrs. Jos. Schmitz and John Lindner were at Madison Sunday and Otto Schmitz, who
has been a patient at the hospital there for the past eight weeks, returned home
with them. Otto is still in a cast but his local friends hope that soon may be
removed and he will be well again.
A large crowd attended the card party at the Catholic Hall at Willard last
Thursday evening. Prizes were awarded as follows; Door prize -- Joe Bayuk; Skat
-- Frank Prebil, Henry Keiner, Hugo Quast; 66 -- Leo Gregorich, Ed Gregorich, Ed
Trunkel; 500 -- Mrs. O. Johnson, Tony Trunkel Jr., Mrs. H. Thompson; Pinochle --
Joe Pekol, Joe Volovsek, Vincent Ruzic; Bunko -- Frances Ruzic, Frances Baskovec,
Frank Volovsek; Schafskopf -- Cyril Rakovec, John Trunkel, Tony Gosar. Another
card party will be held Thursday evening, Dec. 27.
