Sladek, Donald F. (24 OCT 1932 - 28 MAR 2014)
Donald F. Sladek, Sr. 81 of rural Granton died unexpectedly March 28, 2014 at
his
home.
Funeral services will be 11am Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at Rembs Funeral Home in
Marshfield with Rev. Mark A. Krueger officiating. Burial will be in Neillsville
City Cemetery.
Visitations will be from 10am Wednesday at Rembs Funeral Home until time of
services.
Don was born in Neillsville on October 24, 1932 to Frank and Anna (Tichy)
Sladek. He attended Loyal Schools then entered the United States Army serving in
the Korean War from 1953 to 1955.
He was united in marriage to Lorraine C. "Sue" Grubofski on October 1, 1955 in
Pittsville.
After his military service, he returned to the home farm and farmed until his
retirement in 1994. While farming he also worked in construction business.
He is survived by his wife Sue, two sons, Donald Sladek, Jr. of Marshfield and
Daniel (Kathy) Sladek of McFarland; five grandchildren Wendy, Jamie, Rebecca,
Lauren and Colin and 4 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister
Mildred (Fred) Grap of Neillsville.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Dawn Sladek in
2011 and a grandson Keith.
