Mrs. Henry Hawks of Withee called on friends here last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Borham and son Paul were Wausau Callers Sunday.
Mrs. Tony Musich of Willard, underwent an operation at St. Joseph's Hospital
Friday.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hart of Mondovi were Sunday visitors at the Gale Hiles home.
About fifty friends and relatives helped Mrs. Mary Johnson celebrate her
seventy-third birthday Sunday. A delicious lunch was served an all present
report a lovely time.
Mrs. A.C. Buker went to Owen yesterday for a short visit with relatives.
Rev. Glenn Shanks is spending the week at the Irva Hindal home at Sheldon.
Mrs. Harold Stabnow and Mrs. Carl Keiner and daughter were Loyal callers
Tuesday.
Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Cox were visitors at the Offord home in Thorp Saturday
evening.
Mrs. W.G. Hartson spent Thursday and Friday of last week with relatives in
Neillsville.
Mrs. Gladys Krogness and family moved onto the farm vacated by H.T. Althoff,
Thursday.
Mrs. H.M. Pratt entertained the members of the Merry-go-round Club at her home.
John Putzel left Friday for Redridge, Mont., where he was called by the serious
illness of his mother.

Hixon Mead of Thorp spent Tuesday and Wednesday here at the home of his son
Russell and family.
Mrs. Annie Dahlby entertained the members of the Easy Aces Bridge Club at her
home Monday evening.
Miss Laura Minsaas underwent an operation for appendicitis at St. Joseph's
Hospital, Marshfield, on Tuesday.
Mr. and Mrs. Doonon and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Palms of Owen were Sunday guests at
the A.C. Buker home.
Rev. and Mrs. E.G. Pfeiffer, Mrs. C. Pickruhn, Mrs. Chris Keiner and Mrs. Val
Volk were at Chippewa Falls Friday.
Mrs. J.S. Andrews entertained the members of the Neighborhood Club at a
Washington party at her home last Friday evening.
A number of young folks had a surprise farewell party at the H. Althoff home
last Friday evening. All report a fine time.
Mr. and Mrs. Palmer Vinger and family attended the auto show at Eau Claire
Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Barr of Neillsville visited at the A.C. Barr home Saturday
and Sunday.
Quilting class Monday with Mrs. A. Muenchow and Rug class Tuesday with Mrs. Geo.
Haeuser.
Mrs. Henry Keiner will entertain the members of the Schafskopf club at her home
this evening.
Gilbert Meyer went to Milwaukee Tuesday where he will spend a few days at the
auto school.
Dr. R.L. Barnes spent from Saturday until Wednesday with relatives and friends
at Cresco, Iowa.
Mrs. A.J. Allard spent from Saturday until Tuesday at St. Joseph's Hospital
where she received treatments.
Henry Althoff Sr. of New Albin, Iowa arrived Saturday and will remain here for a
month of so to take care of his son's cattle.
Dr. Wm. Olson vaccinated 80 pupils of the West Eaton School Monday as a
preventative for smallpox.
The monthly meeting of the local unit of the Catholic Women's League will meet
at the home of Mrs. A.D. Lyon Friday afternoon.
The Methodist Ladies Aid is sponsoring a group of teas. Mrs. Carl Keiner and
Miss Veda Howard entertained last Wednesday.
Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Neuenfeldt, Mrs. Jos. Merkel and John O'Connell and daughter
Irene called on friends and relatives at Marshfield Sunday.
Elaine, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A.C. Buker, entertained the members of the Girl
Scouts and teachers at her home last Wednesday in honor of her 12th birthday
anniversary. Lunch was served by Mrs. Buker.
Dance and Show at the Opera House Friday evening, March 1, Jean Harlow in "The
Girl from Missouri," starting at 8:00 p.m. Dancing will be from 9:30 to 1:00.
Music for the dance will be furnished by "The Troubadours," an orchestra
composed of home town boys who deserved your support. Admission for the dance
and show --25 cents, dance only -- gents 25 cents, ladies 10 cents.
