Loomis, Roy “Turk” (16 November 1904 - 11 Februrary1972)
Roy (Turk) Loomis age 67, Merrillan businessman, died Friday night, February 11
at the Black River Memorial Hospital following a long illness.
Mr. Loomis was born to Mr. and Mrs. William Loomis on November 16, 1904, in
Barron. He married the former Mollie Johnson of Hixton. He resided in Merrillan
over 30 years, formerly managed a Merrillan service station and for the last 25
years operated the Loomis Motel.
Survivors include his widow, Mollie; a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Donn Jean) Rousey,
Alma Center; a son, Kim at home; a sister Mrs. Guy Higgins, Richland Center; and
two grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday from the Jensen Funeral Home at
Hixton, with the Rev. Calvin Carey of Merrillan and the Rev. Harry Rideout of
Alma Center, officiating. Burial was made in East Lawn Cemetery at Alma Center.
