Hinker, Sylvester Theodore (26 June 1911 - 12 February 1972)

Sylvester Theodore Hinker, age 60, of Greenwood, died February 12, at the hospital in Marshfield.

Mr. Hinker, son of Edward and Frances (Einch) Hinker, was born June 26, 1911, in Fort Atkinson, Ia. In 1913 He came here with his parents and they settled on a farm south of Greenwood, which had been his home ever since. He was married May 9, 1933, to Barbara Pink.

Mr. Hinker was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus. Holy Name Society, and was the Town of Eaton supervisor for a number of years.

He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Lester (Jo Ann) Kaiser of Stratford; nine sons: Jerome, James, Allen and Robert all of Greenwood, Eugene of Loyal, Ronald of Wausau, Francis of Marshfield, Lawrence of Newtown Square, Pa, and William at home; 24 grandchildren; his mother, Mrs Frances Hinker of Marshfield; two brothers, Marcellus Hinker of Effingham, Il; and a sister, Mrs. Gregg (Edna) Huinker of Ossian, Ia.

Funeral services were held Tuesday from St. Mary’s Catholic Church. The Rev. Leander Koopman officiated. Burial was made in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Six sons were pallbearers, Jerome, Eugene, Ronald, Francis, Allen and James Hinker.
