Liebzeit, Ellen Kay (Marriage - 5 February1972)
Miss Ellen Kay Liebzeit became the bride of Richard Lombard in a candlelight
service at Immanuel United Church of Christ on Rt.2 Greenwood. The Rev. Pacifico
Camarin was the officiating clergyman. Mr. and Mrs. Arvin Liebzeit of Greenwood
are the bride’s parents. The groom’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Lombard are
former Greenwood residents.
Given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore a lace-trimmed, white wool gown
styled with a fitted bodice, tiered skirt, and short, puff sleeves gathered into
a band and set off onto slim, full-length sleeves. Her shoulder length tulle
veil fell from a lace-trimmed wool cap which matched her gown. She carried an
arrangement of two large white orchids on a background of green ferns.
Miss Judi Hill of Madison, friend of the bride, was the maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Miss Coreen Liebzeit, La Crosse, and Miss LaVonne Liebzeit,
Stevens Point, both sisters of the bride, and Miss Barbara Liebzeit, Oshkosh,
cousin of the bride. Their gowns, styled much like the bride’s, were fashioned
of royal blue wool with a large floral design and featured bell sleeves. The
attendants carried lighted fairy candles.
Mark Smith of Oshkosh, friend of the groom, served as bestman. Groomsmen were
Charles Lombard, Eau Claire, and Randy Lombard, Milwaukee, both brothers of the
groom, and Jim Herrick, Colfax, friend of the groom. Guests were seated by Galen
Liebzeit and John Schneider, Marshfield.
David Schroeder of Greenwood sang “He” and “The Lord’s Prayer.” He was
accompanied at the organ by Miss Patrice Pakiz of Greenwood. A dinner reception
and wedding dance at the Star Lodge Motel, Loyal, followed the ceremony.
Both young people are 1969 graduates of Greenwood High School. The bride, a 1971
graduate of Wisconsin Rapids Technical School is employed in an Eau Claire
Nursing home as a nurses’ aid. Her husband attends the University of
Wisconsin-Eau Claire. The newlyweds will live in Eau Claire.
