Meinhardt, Harry (Injured - 18 Apr 1935)

Harry Meinhardt, 14, son of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Meinhardt, who live 3 1/2 miles west of Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), received a severe fracture of the right leg, between the knee and hip, as a result of an accident which occurred on Highway G near the Smaldone farm Thursday afternoon.

Harry, together with five other boys, was riding in a trailer attached to to the automobile of Frank Lamovec, who resides 5 miles southwest of here, when the trailer became disconnected from the car and overturned. Harry was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, where he is being treated.

James Susa, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Susa, who live 3 miles southwest of this city, suffered a severe gash on the side of his head and was brought to the local clinic, where eight stitches were required to close the wound. The other four boys escaped with bruises and minor injuries.

The boys, who attend school here, were on their way home when Lamovec picked them up to give them a ride. The injuries of the Meinhardt boy were most serious, and it was found necessary at the hospital to place him in a body cast. He is reported as doing nicely.
