Sanger, Ernest (12 June 1890 - 18 February 1972)

Funeral services for Ernest Sanger, 81, of Rt. 1 Loyal, who died February 18 in Neillsville, were held Monday, February 21, at 1:30 p.m. from Trinity Lutheran church in Loyal. The Rev. William Humlie officiated and burial was made in the Yolo Cemetery. The Roycraft Funeral Home at Loyal was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Sanger was born June 12, 1890, in the Town of Fremont and was educated there. As a young man he worked for a number of years in South Dakota before returning to Wisconsin. His marriage to the former Emma Franke took place October 27, 1915, in the Town of Fremont. The couple farmed there from 1915 until 1957, when they retired and moved to the town of Loyal. Mr. Sanger was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include four children, Elmer Sanger of Rockford, Il., Chaplain Lawrence Sanger of Fort Bragg, N.C., Mrs. Alvin (Evelyn) Roehl of Chili and Mrs. Norman (Mildred) Faber of Granton; and 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Four sisters and a brother also survive.

Pallbearers were George Schecklman, Silas Kleinschmidt, Bud Rand, Raymond Mundt, Isadore Donnerbauer and Kenneth Franke. “How Great Thou Art” and “Nearer my God to Thee” were sung by Verlyn Randt. Mrs. Julie Feldt was the organist.
