Kroll, Ethel Marie (28 May 1929 - 4 April 2014)

Ethel Kroll, age 84, of Neillsville died Friday, April 4, 2014, in the emergency room of Memorial Medical Center in Neillsville.

Ethel Marie Poppe was born May 28, 1929, in the Town of Seif, Clark County, the daughter of John and Elsie (Hemp) Poppe. She grew up in Neillsville and united in marriage to Wilmer Kroll Sept. 22, 1951. They lived in Wausau for 25 years and retired back to Neillsville in 1989. Ethel was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville.

She is survived by one brother, Norman (Ardith) Poppe of Neillsville; a brother-in-law, Merlin (Jean) Kroll of Neillsville; and a sister-on-law, Eileen (Arnold) Buchholz of Neillsville; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband.

Funeral services for Ethel were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday April 8, 2014 at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor Timothy Biebert officiated. Music was provided by Sharon Nemitz organist and St. John’s Children’s Choir. Interment was in the Neillsville City Cemetery.
