Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hepburn of Fairchild called on relatives and friends here last Thursday.

Beginning next Saturday, Oct. 1st, the local bank will again be open Saturday afternoon.

Jos. Quast, who has been a patient at the hospital at Marshfield the past six weeks, returned home Saturday.

C.H. Zimmerman went to St. Paul Sunday on business.

Miss Violet McCarty of Longwood spent Friday and Saturday at the A.C. Barr home.

Geo. Haeuser and daughter Joyce returned home Saturday from their visit with relatives and friends in Minnesota and North Dakota.

Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Fradette and Mr. and Mrs. Mack visited friends at Black River Falls Sunday.

Miss Evelyn Murphy, who teaches at Tigerton, spent Sunday here with her mother, Mrs. Emma Murphy.

Donald Armstrong left last week for Minneapolis where he entered the University of Minnesota.

Mrs. F.A. Oelig will entertain the Suffragettes Club at her home this evening.

Mr. and Mrs. H.A. Wescott and Mrs. Brockway were at Millston Sunday to attend the funeral of Mrs. Wescott's aunt.

Mr. and Mrs. Jos. Brauneis and Miss Elsie Brauneis left Monday by auto for Chicago where Miss Elsie will remain, having employment there.

Dr. and Mrs. R.L. Barnes and daughter spent Sunday at the Perry Volk home at Loyal.

Mr. and Mrs. S.L. Gates are expected home today from their visit through the western states, where they spent several weeks with realtives and friends.

Rev. and Mrs. E.G. Pfeiffer autoed to Oshkosh Monday for a few days visit with relatives and friends.

Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hinker and three children left Tuesday morning for Iowa where they will visit relatives and friends. They expect to be gone two weeks.

Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Menigoz of Belleville and son Leo of Madison were visitors at the J.F. Stoller home Saturday.

The Hemlock Ladies Aid will meet with Mrs. Elizabeth Vine, Wednesday, Oct. 12th.

Mr. and Mrs. H.M. Pratt autoed to Jim Falls Saturday where they spent Sunday at the home of their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. W.W. Tyrrell.

Mr. and Mrs. John Arends and daughter and Chas. O'Brien spent from Saturday until Tuesday with relatives at Chippewa Falls.

Mr. and Mrs. A.S. Armstrong autoed to Park Falls Friday for a visit at the home of their son, Glen and family.

Mr. and Mrs. Stewart left Saturday for Wis. Rapids after a few days visit here at the L.E. Rees home. Mrs. Stewart is teaching printing in the vocational school at the Rapids. They recently moved there from Milwaukee.

The W.C.T.U. will meet at the home of Mrs. John Arends Tuesday evening, Oct. 4th. Everybody is welcome.

Mrs. J.A. McCarty of Longwood left last week for Rock Island, Ill, where she will spend the winter with relatives and friends.

L.H. Snyder of Sioux City, Iowa, arrived here Sunday for a few days visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jos. Snyder.

Mrs. W.H. Lyon returned home from Alma Center Tuesday where she spent several days with friends.

Mr. and Mrs. C. Keiner and daughters Louise and Frida and Mrs. Wm. Corbin and sons spent Friday with friends at Neillsville.

Tom Leach returned Monday from Fond du Lac where he spent several days at the Day home. While there Mr. Leach had the opportunity of seeing one of the best herds of cattle in the world. Among the herd was a $33,000 bull and an $18,000 cow.

Miss Frieda Keiner returned home last Wednesday after spending the past three months with relatives and friends at Milwaukee.

There will be a dance at the Will Syth barn, Thursday evening, Sept. 29th. Music by Slim Perkins Orchestra.

The West Side Ladies Aid will meet at the home of Mrs. Richard Moldenhauer, Wednesday, Oct. 5th. The proposed Delco light plant will also be discussed.

Miss Blanche Gates, who spent the summer here at the home of her brother Dan and family, left last week for Bayfield, Wis., where she is teaching in the high school.

Mr. and Mrs. Norse Howard and daughter Carol of Arpin, and Wilfred Howard of Milwaukee, spent Thursday at the C. Keiner home.

Carl, the little son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Art Johnson of this city, won second prize in the better baby contest at Chippewa Falls. Hundreds of babies were entered and Carl can well feel proud of his victory.

Mrs. L.M. Dixon of Madison arrived at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jos. Snyder.

Mr. and Mrs. C.J. Carter, Mr. and Mrs. F.G. MacLachlan, Durward McVey, L. Arbs, F.a. Oelig, A. McCormick and W.G. Hartson returned home from Pike Lake Sunday.

Mrs. Jos. Snyder left Monday for Mosinee where she will spend the winter at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Geo. Johnson. Her son, L.H. Snyder of Iowa, and her daughter, Mrs. Dixon of Madison, accompanied her to Mosinee for a short visit.

Mrs. O.C. Behrens has had a new Frigidaire ice cream packer and ice box installed in her Home Restaurant. This new equipment will enable her to keep ice cream in first class condition at all times and does away with the old method of packing and handling ice cream.
