Dux, Fred C. (28 February 1902 - 1 March 1972)

Funeral services for Fred C. Dux, 70, of Rt. 2 Neillsville, who as dead on arrival at Memorial Hospital March 1, were held on Saturday, March 4, at 2 p.m. from St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. The Rev. Norman W. Lindloff officiated and burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery. The Georgas Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Dux apparently died as the result of a fall in his barn.

Mr. Dux. The son of Fred and Wilhelmina (Nemitz) Dux was born February 28, 1902, in the Town of Pine Valley. He was educated in township schools and at parochial school. His marriage to the former Alma Ziglinske took place April 29, 1926, in Neillsville. Mr. Dux operated the home farm most of his lifetime and also worked for the county highway department. He was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three children: Mrs. Alvin (Arlene) Bartz of Janesville, Frederick Dux of Neillsville and Marvin Dux of Marvin Dux of Janesville; and seven grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Grace May and Mrs. Hulda Wegner, and by a brother Otto Dux, all of Neillsville.

Pallbearers were: Frank Bardeleben, Art Dux, Tony Karnitz, Fred Wall, Leonard Schultz and August Nemitz. Mrs. Harold Mayer sang “Asleep in Jesus” and “I’m but a Stranger Here” accompanied by Victor Lehmann.

Those from out of town who attended the services were Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Dux and family, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Bartz and family ad Mr. and Mrs. Dale Fitzmaurice and family, all of Janesville, and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Clausnitzer, Mr. and Mrs. John Zinthefer and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Hoeser, all of Marshfield.
