The Cancer Fund raising drive for the city of Greenwood has been completed. Mrs.
Burnell Yaeger, chairman, reports $440.32 was collected.
Ward chairmen were Mrs. Clarissa Steele, Mrs. Donald Berthold, Mrs. Wilma Susa
and Mrs. Robert Clintsman.
Block solicitors were Mrs. Robert Hinker, Mrs. William Kuester, Mrs. Erwin
Toburen, Mrs. Victor Diercks, Mrs. Dottie Larson, Mrs. Ervin Geisler, Mrs. Mayme
Kelty, Mrs. Anita Herdrick, Mrs. James Metzke, Mrs. Henry Smith, Mrs. Jerome
Hinker, Mrs. Harold Blaasch, Mrs. John Kaltinger, Jr., Mrs. Chris Simonson, Mrs.
Glen Drew, Mrs. Edward Bucheger, Mrs. Ralph Landini, Mrs. George Grabara, Mrs.
Hattie Hegenbarth, Mrs. Jack Abel, Mrs. David Rakestraw, Mrs. Edward
Bogdonovich, Mrs. Robert Moseley, and Mrs. Robert Clintsman. Mrs. Yaeger
solicited the business places. Members of the Salem Aid gave a special
contribution.
Altar communion will be held at Immanuel United Church of Christ on Maundy
Thursday at 8 p.m. Kenneth Steiger will be the worship leader. Good Friday
services will be held at 2 p.m. March 31. Harry Meinhardt will be the worship
leader. Pew communion will be held during the 10:45 a.m. Easter Sunday Service.
Albert Wehrman will be the worship leader.
Easter services will be held Easter Sunday at Grace United Methodist Church at 6
a.m. The Youth Fellowship will serve breakfast following the service.
The Rev. and Mrs. Francisco Beltran and eight-year-old son, Paul, arrived last
week from the Philippines. They are guests of the Rev. and Mrs. Pacifico Camarin,
while they are making plans to locate in Wisconsin. The men attended the same
college and the women were of the same community in the Philippines.
The Women’s Guild will meet April 5 in Immanuel United Church. Hostesses will be
Mrs. Emil Noah and Mrs. Walter Schwarze. Mrs. Jerald Richmond will be the
spiritual life leader.
The Forest Queen Royal Neighbors will meet at the home of Mrs. Lawrence Cox at 2
p.m. on April 3.
The Thrift Shop operated by St. Lucy’s group of St. Ann’s Society has moved from
the Vinger building into the former Greenwood Gleaner building on Central
avenue.
Mr. and Marvin Schillinger and family have moved to Bloomer, where he has
accepted a position as manager of a building center. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Wuethrich
have moved from the Hendrickson apartment on Main Street into the Schillinger
house on Hendren avenue, which they purchased recently. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Horn
have moved from the Learman house into the Hendrickson apartment.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Harding of Wausau spent Wednesday with her mother, Mrs. Olaf
Johnson, and with her sister Mrs. Peter R. Nichols of Chicago, who is spending a
week with her mother.
Mrs. Knute Wallin is a patient at the hospital in Marshfield.
