Carl, Harland (UW Grid Staff - 1966)
Harland Carl, outstanding University of Wisconsin halfback from 1951 through
1953, and now high school football coach at Neenah, has been added to the
Wisconsin coaching staff.
Athletic Director Ivan B. Williamson said today Carl ahs been named to succeed
Fred Jacoby, who resigned earlier this month to become commissioner of the Wis.
State University Conference.
Carl is a native of Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.). He has been at Neenah since
1958. He has been head grid coach there for the past four seasons. His team won
as many Mid-Eastern titles. His overall record was 27-3-2.
He played a key role in the 1952 Wisconsin co-championship team.
