Byrne, Dorothy Ann (28 Feb. 1923 - 20 April 2014)
Dorothy A. Byrne, 91, of Neillsville died Sunday, April 20m, 2014 at the
Neillsville Care and Rehabilitation Center. Dorothy Ann Austin was born Feb. 28,
1923, in Metuchen, N. J. the daughter of Oliver and Marguerite (Escoffier)
Austin. She graduated from Emerson High School and then worked as a telephone
operator. Dorothy was united in marriage May 4, 1940, to Terry Byrne. In 1968,
they moved to Neillsville to farm. Dorothy loved animals, especially cats, and
going to garage to sales, traveling out East, playing games and trivia. Dorothy
was a special lady who was loved by all.
She is survived by nine children, Sharon (Don) Wing of Morris, NY, Patricia Barr
of Lancaster, PA, Eileen (Bert) Smalley of Gilbertsville, NY, Veronica (Larry)
Beckwith of Oxford, NY, Kerry (Jon) Papierniak of Thorp, Margaret (Milton)
Slowiak of River Falls, Linda (Chuck) Schlegelmilch of Redmond OR, Annie (Jim)
Iallonardo of Prescott and Terry (Becky) Byrne of Neillsville; 30 grandchildren
and many great-grand and great-great-grandchildren.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Kathleen Osborne; a
son-in-law, Wayne Barr; five brothers and one sister.
Her honorary casketbearers will be her grandchildren: Tracey (Aaron) Slowiak,
Andrea (Jason) Schramm, Denise (Greg) Tunstall, Maureen (Kevin) Campbell,
Kristin (Jason) Wyatt, Amber (Neil) Byce, Lucas (Asuka) Papierniak, Carla, Jenna
and Michael Byrne, Erich (Nikki) Schlegelmilch, Kelli Schlegelmilch. Tammy
(Tommy) Osborne, Kyle (Sierra) Smalley, Jamie (Bennett) Privitera, Karen (Todd)
Smith, Julie (James) Boyd, Kenny Dutcher, Heidi Dutcher, Steve (Lisa) Dutcher,
Shawn (Patty) Osborne, Shannon (Wilson) Lee, Brendan Osborne, Wayne Barr, Kevin
Barr, Brian Barr, Trevor Barr, Joe Iallonardo, Gino Iallonardo, and Ross
Iallonardo.
