Alger, Sidney F. Sr. (29 SEP 1898 - 11 NOV 1969)
Funeral services for Sidney F. Alger Sr., 71, who died Nov. 11, 1969 at his home
of a heart attack, was held Thursday, Nov. 13 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church,
Thorp. Rev. Robert Olson officiated at the two p.m. services with burial being
made in the East Thorp Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Willard Ustruck, Orville Asselin, Gordie Thorson, William
Weinberger, Cyril Alger and Ed Alger.
Mr. Alger was born Sept. 29, 1898 at Thorp (Clark Co.), Wis.). He was united in
marriage to Louise Anton at Thorp Oct. 14, 1925.
Surviving are his wife, Louise; six sons, Sidney Jr., Thorp, John of St. Paul,
Richard and Kenneth, both of Thorp, William of St. Paul, Gerald of Milwaukee;
five daughters, (Arlene) Mrs. Norbert Seiekter of Boyd, (Joan) Mrs. Thomas Ruff
of Milwaukee, (Jean) Mrs. Thomas Stelter and (Carol) Mrs. Dave Teclaw, both of
Minneapolis, (Sandee) Mrs. James Erickson of Milwaukee; two brothers, Earl Alger
of Hilbert, wis., Donald Alger of Ladysmith; three sisters, Hazel Weinberger and
(Eva) Mrs. Layton Asselin of Thorp, Mrs. Doris Ustruck of Milwaukee; 34
grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one
brother, Jay Alger.
