Pink Gladiolas and blue titnted carnations were on the altar of the S.S. Peter
and Paul Catholic Church, Gilman, for the marriage of Theresa Czahor and William
M. Schlaak on Saturday, July 2nd, 1966. Rev. John Dzurko performed the 10:30
a.m. nuptial high mass and marriage ceremony.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Frank Czahor, Gilman, and Mr. and Mrs.
William G. Schlaak, fond du Lac.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a floor length gown with
bouffant skirt of organza over faille taffeta and the front skirt featured
panels of sequin embroidered Chantilly lace. A chapel length train and long
tapered sleeves completed her gown.
A bouffant veil was attached to a crown of seed pearls, oval loops and pearl
tear drop trim. She carried a bouquet of trim cymbidium orchids and white
carnations accented with ivy.
Marian Miller, friend of the bride, was maid of honor and bridesmaid was
Rosemary Czahor, sister of the bride. Patricia Czahor, also a sister of the
bride, was junior bridesmaid. They wore floor length gowns of blue embroidered
peau de soie accented with elbow length jackets. Their headpieces were blue bows
with 3 tiers of blue net and each carried a bouquet of blue tint carnations
accented with ivy.
Brian O'Brien and Ray Piper, friends of the groom, were attendants for the
groom, and ushers were Louis Glasnapp, friend of the groom, and Frank Czahor,
brother of the bride.
A dinner and reception for 75 guests were held at Koolmo's Ballroom, Gilman.
The bride, a graduate of Thorp High School and Wis. State University - Eau
Claire, was formerly employed by the Merrill Board of Education as senior high
physics and geometry teacher. The groom is a graduate of Goodrich High School,
Fond du Lac and Wis. State University - Oshkosh, and is with the Medford Board
of Education as a senior high history teacher.
After their wedding trip to Detroit and Dearborn, Mich., they are temporarily
residing at 350 Amory in Fond du Lac.
