Colby, Carl (17 Jan 1881 – 08 Jan1968)
Carl Colby, 86, died of complications at 8:30 p.m. at the Memorial Hospital in
Neillsville.
Services will be held Friday at the Myre Funeral Home with the Ellen Shaw of the
Loyal Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be made at the Loyal Cemetery.
The body will lie in state at the Myre Funeral Home beginningThursday morning
until the time of services.
Mr. Colby was born January 17, 1881, at McHenry, Illinois and attended
Valparaiso University, Valparaiso, Indiana. As a young man, he worked as a
railroad telegraph operater, and then entered business in general merchandise
stores at Spencer, Abbotsford and Pittsville.
Thirty years ago he came to Loyal, where he had resided until three years ago,
when he went to the Memorial Home at Neillsville.
Mr. Colby was a member of the Masonic Lodge at Abbotsford.
His only survivor is a sister, Mrs. Ray (Addie) Prior, Loyal.
Two brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
