Army Specialist Four Michael D. Kurth, 21, son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond E. Kurth,
route 1, Granton, is taking part in “Operation Quicksilver” with the 11th
Armored Calvary Regiment in Vietnam.
This regiment is working with the 1st Infantry Division to make the convoy
routes safe in the Lai Khe area of South Vietnam. The action is primarily
involved with the daily road clearing missions to eliminate booby traps and to
provide protection against ambushes.
Spec. Kurth is a mechanic in the regiment’s Headquarters Troop.
