Lato, Vincent (9 MAR 1881 - 14 AUG 1966)
Last rites were conducted by Rev. Edward Masalewicz at St. Hedwig's Chapel
Wednesday, August 17, 1966 in the morning at 10:00 for Mr. Vincent Lato, who
passed away at the home of his son John in the town of Reseburg (Clark Co.,
Wis.) Sunday morning, Aug. 14, 1966 of a heart attack.
Mr. Lato was born March 9, 1881 in Lublin, Poland. He had reached the age of 85
years and 5 months.
On Jan. 29, 1902 he was united in marriage to Brigeda Wozniak in Poland.
In March 1914 he arrived in America. He bought a farm in the Town of Worden
(Clark Co.). On Sept. 9, 1925 his wife Brigeda and children joined him. They
leved there for 22 years, having sold their farm, the bought a farm in the town
of Reseburg in 1947.
He resided there until his wife passed away, then sold his farm and lived with
his daughter, Mrs. Stanley Lasiuk. Then he spent the last eight years with his
son John.
He is survived by two sons, John of Thorp and Bruno of Lublin, Poland, three
daughters, Mrs. Stanley (Veronica) Kosik, Mrs. Stanley (Magdalena) Lasiuk, Mrs.
Joe (Stella) Grabowski, all of Thorp; twenty four grandchildren; fifty eight
great-grandchildren, also one brother, Anton of Thorp.
He was preceded in death by one daughter and two brothers and two sisters.
Interment took place in the parish cemetery.
Pallbearers were his grandsons, Walter Lato, Palo Hills, Ill., Edward Lato,
Brookfield, Wis., Joe Kosik, Edward Kosik, Chester Abramczuk, Thorp, Wis., Joe
St. Grabowski, Chicago, Ill.
Out of town relatives and friends were Mr. Chester Kosik, Mr. and Mrs. Edward
Lato, Sister Mary Carolyn of Milwaukee, Mrs. Katherine Jaworek, Mr. and Mrs. Ray
Waclawek, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Lato, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Niemiec and family, Mr.
and Mrs. Joe Grabowski Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Joe Grabowski and family of Chicago,
Mr. and Mrs. Peter Hader, Miss Genevieve Lato, Minneapolis, Mr. and Mrs. John M.
Lato, Menomonie, Wis., Mr. Joe Lato, Stratford, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Paul Kosik,
Rhinelander, also from Gilman, Stanley and Thorp.
