Roder, Carl (18 April 1902 - 31 July 1968)
Carl Roder, 66, Loyal died at his home from a heart attack at 10:15 p.m.
Wednesday, July 31.
Services were conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday , August 3, at St. Anthony's
Catholic Church, with the Rev. N. E. King officiating and burial was made in the
parish cemetery.
The Myre Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Pallbearers were Chester Rybski, Frank Wolf, Mike and Robert Weyer, Joe Esselman
and Henry Aumann, Sr.
Mr. Roder was born on April 18, 1902 in the town of Grant. June 16, 1936 he
married Gertrude Hauser at Neillsville. He farmed until about 1920 in the town
of Grant and then worked as a blacksmith in Neillsville until 1945 when he moved
to the city of Loyal where he operated a blacksmith shop. He retired in 1965.
He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and of the Loyal Order of Moose
Lodge #1602
He was preceded in death by his wife, who died on March 13, 1965.
He is survived by a daughter, Margaret, at home; three sisters, Mrs. Ernest
(Margaret) Vine, Granton; Mrs. Orville (Alice) Barrow, Elgin, Illinois; and Mrs.
Lynn (Ruth) Frietz, Wisconsin Rapids.
Besides his wife two brothers preceded him in death.
