Boie, Connette J. (24 SEP 1966)
Bouquets of yellow and white gladiolas decorated the altar of Our Savior's
Lutheran Church on Sept. 24, 1966 as Miss Connette Jeannie Boie became the bride
of Wayne Clifton Boucher.
The Rev. Carl Peters read the double ring ceremony at 2:00 p.m. Mrs. Dale Booth,
soloist, sang "Wedding Prayer" and "The Lord's Prayer," with Mrs. Dan Nafzger
playing the accompaniments and other nuptial music. Yellow satin bows marked the
pews for the guests. Duane Boie, brother of the bride, and Larry Witt, a cousin,
were the acolytes.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Norval Boie, Stanley and Mr. and Mrs. D.J.
Boucher, Corpus Christi, Texas.
A lace floor length gown detailed with a Sabrina neckline, Basque waistline, and
bouffant redingote overskirt was worn by the bride as she was given in marriage
by her father. The chapel length detachable cape train was of lace with
scalloped edges. Her crown of pearls and crystals held her full elbow length
silk illusion veil and she carried a bouquet of yellow and white gladiolas.
Miss Janice Boie, Madison, was the maid of honor for her sister. Her primrose
yellow silk organza sheath dress featured an empire waistline, green velvet
trim, and small yellow flowers at the waistline. The coat over her dress was
designed with a full Watteau back and her headdress was the wedding bell design
with a full four tier forward style bouffant veil. Miss Susan Anderson, Madison,
a friend, served as bridesmaid and was attired in an identical sheath dress.
Each carried a bouquet of white gladiolas.
A/3c Thomas Sleight, Kingsville, Texas, was the best man for the groom. The
groomsman was Arlyn Boie, twin brother of the bride. Seating the guests were
Dale Boie, brother of the bride, and Roger Mathison.
A reception for 250 guests was held in the church parlors with the color scheme
carried out in yellow and white.
Honored guests included the bride's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Graham and
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Boie, her great-grandmother, Mrs. Adolph Edwardson, and her
godparents, Mrs. Jack Larson and John E. Boie, Milwaukee and Waukesha. Other
guests were present from Madison, Milwaukee, Eau Claire, Thorp, Boyd, Merrill,
Wausau, Sheldon, Dodgeville, Waukesha and Oshkosh, also Princeton, St. Paul,
Rochester and Minneapolis, Minn.
The couple will be at home in Corpus Christi, Texas after Oct. 12. The bride
graduated from Stanley-Boyd High School and from Madison Vocational School, and
is a licensed practical nurse. The groom graduated from Roy Miller High School
and attended Del Mar Tech School in Corpus Christi and is presently in the Air
Force at Truax in Madison.
